The current trending topic in the spiritual development industry is to find balance in life.* It takes a great deal of courage to aim for a balanced life. As the saying goes, “be careful what you wish for because you might just get it.”
Here’s a sample of what a balanced life takes to achieve, and what it looks like when you get it:
If your life was all negative, then it would be hell. If your life was all positive, it would be heaven. The fact is that you live on earth. The earth is not heaven, and it is not hell. If the earth was in fact, heaven or hell, then the earth would bear the title of heaven or hell, but it doesn’t, so it isn’t.
The truth on earth lies somewhere in between, and to find the truth you have to know it.
How do you know something? One way to know something is to study and learn about it.
How do you learn something? You have to take lessons on the topic. You have to sign up for lessons in the “Truth” if your desire is to find or create more balance in your life. Once you sign up for a balanced life, then you are destined to learn about the truth in order to know it.
Your lessons will go much further than asking you to trust the truth. They will involve – but then move past – having faith in the truth. Your lessons will focus on – and then push you beyond – believing in the truth. Then they will encompass you getting to know the truth. Your lessons will then urge you to embody the truth, and finally (or is it firstly?) the truth will emanate from you.
Balance in life is not what you might expect. If negative beliefs are exactly that: beliefs, not facts, then positive beliefs are exactly that: beliefs, not facts. All balance is bittersweet, and the fact is, the Truth is a fact. The recipe for life balance contains a mix of positive and negative experiences and facts in equal measure.
