Eight Days to BFF

You’ve been let down again. Your disappointment is overwhelming. You feel deeply betrayed. These things will happen in life, but when they happen far too often, then you know it’s a pattern. How do you recover? How do you break this debilitating cycle?

You owe it to you and your soul to be best friends forever

There is a solution. You can use your sense of disappointment, hurt and betrayal as a trigger to remind you to be more loving towards you. You can use disappointment and betrayal to remind you to be your own best friend. If this sounds like a bit of a stretch, you can make a start by faking it until you make it. You have to behave like you love yourself until you truly feel like you love yourself.

Here’s how to do it, one day at a time:

Day 1 : Focus on thinking like you love yourself.

Day 2: Focus on making decisions like you love yourself.

Day 3: Focus on eating like you love yourself.

Day 4: Focus on speaking like you love yourself.

Day 5: Focus on listening like you love yourself.

Day 6: Focus on moving like you love yourself.

Day 7: Focus on trusting like you love yourself.

Day 8: Focus on learning like you love yourself.

Repeat when necessary.

Without doubt, you will judge yourself for losing focus, or for not thinking or speaking or eating like you love yourself, but when this happens, use it as a trigger to remind you to be kind to yourself. Replace criticism with compassion. It’s what best friends forever do best.
