You Don’t Need a Crystal Ball to Clarify Your Fear of Success or Fear of Failure

I’ve started to wonder if the fear of success or fear of failure may be linked to some age-old questions: Who am I? I’ve pondered this question before, by asking myself to clarify who I am not, and concluded that I am not my job. I have a job. I am not my calling. I have calling. I am not my purpose. I have a purpose. I still don’t know the answer to this question, “who am I?” and I probably never will know, but this morning I attempted to explore the possibilities further by trying to identify even more about who I am not.

You don’t need a crystal ball. Ask yourself, “who am I not?” to clarify fears about success and fear of failure

When I asked myself who am I? my response was: You are not your body. You have a body. Who is the you that has a body? You are not your thoughts. Who is the you that has these thoughts? You are not your feelings. You have feelings. Who is the you that has these feelings? You are not your mind. You have a mind. Who is the you that has this mind? You are not your spirit. You have spirit. Who is the you that has spirit? You are not your soul. You have a soul. Who is the you that has a soul? You are not your life. You have life. Who is the you that has this life?

Who is the you that has so much?

Who is the you that does not know who you are?

You have so much. You can be who you want to be, or need to be, or are called to be, because you have so much. When you can be who you want to be because you have so much, you can do much. You can be much. You can have much. You can have power. But you are not this power. Who is the you with all this power?

You don’t know the you that is in control of all this power. This you is unknown. This you can’t be pinned down. This you is free. This you cannot be captured, or identified or labelled.  This you is nameless.

Is it any wonder that the fear of success or the fear of failure has the power to immobilise even the strongest and most self-assured? An unknown you with a lot of power might be dangerous. Or you could be useful, careful, thoughtful or mindful of this power.

Moreover, the you that you don’t know has even more power.

The you that you don’t know also has the power to choose how to use this power.

The most you can do is to make the best of what you have. You may not know who you are, and who you are is nameless, but you can name your powers. Get to know them. Make friends with your power. That way, you can make each moment a powerful moment. You can make it a destructive moment or you can make it a constructive moment. It’s your choice.

You can make each moment a useless moment. You can make it a careless moment. You can make it a thoughtless moment. You can make it a mindless moment.

Or you can make each moment a useful moment. You can make it a careful moment. You can make it a thoughtful moment. You can make it a mindful moment.

Every moment is a moment of choice. Each moment is an opportunity to step into your power. You may not know who you are, and you may never know, but you know you have power. You have a lot of power. That’s why you fear success and you’re afraid to fail. You are not alone. These fears are universal but these powers are also universal.

Your power is powerful. You have a body. You have physical power. You have a mind. You have mental power. You have feelings. You have emotional power. You have a soul. You have soul power. You have spirit. You have spiritual power. You have life. You have life in you. The life force is within you and you are within the life force. You can send your life force on constructive missions. Constructive missions enhance your power and the recipient’s power. Or you can send your life force on destructive missions. Destructive missions deplete your power and the recipient’s power.

You have the power to be at one with the whole of life. You can be at one with your life by being useful, careful, thoughtful and mindful about your body, your mind, your emotions, your soul, your spirit and your power.

You have so much power. Don’t let it overwhelm you. One power. One moment. You’re in charge. You can choose. Don’t be afraid to use your power because you are not your failures. You are not your success. Be conscious of your power. Use it constructively.
